low hills and spinifex
two cars a day
- a busy road

rising temperature
cracked radiator leaks
black into red

raised voices disturb
the radio and
turning pages

stifling tent or
sandblown awning
everywhere, bees

walking the spade
scorpion in the torchlight
digging elsewhere

in the distance
a red dust cloud,
the new radiator

from the veranda
watching the sunset
with a cold VB
